We found out we were expecting our 4th Child on February 27, 2007. We were excited, but nervous, as we had 3 boys already and they were only 3 and a half, 2 and almost 1. I love being pregnant though and despite my children being so close in age I was THRILLED to be having another little angel. I was due November 5. We got started right away trying to find a house that was big enough for our family, the one we were living in was 2 bedrooms and barely enough room for the 3 kids that we had already. In mid June we moved into our home. Its the perfect size for our family. For the most part my pregnancy was very uneventful. On August 6, 2007, we found out we were having a 4th boy. It took me a while to get used to this idea(I was almost positive baby was a girl, and was scared at the thought of having FOUR boys!). Within a week though we were already calling him JJ, as He is named after his Daddy, Jason. Daddy was an OTR truck driver and was gone for 2-3 weeks most of the time. At the end of September Daddy had to go to Florida for a week, near where Uncle David lived and since I wasn't due to have my c section for another month we all decided to pile in the truck and go with, as we'd only be gone 1 week. Or so we thought. October 3 was a VERY long day for us. We got up early and had been staying in a hotel, and I picked up some orange juices from the IHOP next door. Daddy had some work to do(unload the truck) and then we'd be going to Uncle David's house. His unloading took longer than we thought, and Isaiah(our oldest, then 4 years) started getting ansey. So I called to Jason and Isaiah went out and helped daddy while Mommy, Adam(our 2nd, then 2.5) and Noah(our 3rd, then 18 months) napped in the cab. When Daddy finally finished we headed for Uncle David's house, but we were still a few hours away. As we were getting closer I had a contraction and felt a small "pop" down below. I had Jason pull into a truck stop so I could go potty. I cautiously stood up an *phew* no gush of water. When I got back out to the truck we parked the trailer and went to David's house. When I stood up to get the kid's shoes on I felt a small trickle of liquid run down my leg. "Did I just pee on myself?" I thought. Took the boys inside and grabbed myself a new pair of shorts and undies and headed to the bathroom. I put them on and went back out and was talking to my SIL Colene. 10 minutes later, I grabbed another pair of shorts and undies and talked to Jason. He was too nervous and in denial about the situation so I told my SIL that even though I haven't had a huge gush of water, I think my water broke. I'm not peeing and within 10 minutes my last shorts were soaked. She took me to the nearest hospital where they confirmed that indeed my water broke. Of course that hospital didn't have a Maternity Ward, so I was rushed by ambulance to the next closest hospital that did have a maternity ward. In the ambulance I was lying flat and they took my BP. It was extremely low, although I felt completly fine. They started to freak out and sat me up immediatly and then took it again and it was fine. JJ was just laying on my aorta blocking the blood flow! When we finally got to the second hospital and the doctor finally came in to check on me he determined that I was 35 weeks 2 days and because I was not yet 36 weeks that I had to be kept in the hospital on total bedrest for 5 days before he'd do my c section. What an excruciating wait that was! Saturday, Daddy finally brought me my yarn and crochet hook so I had something to preoccupy me, but it was still the LONGEST 5 days of my life! Finally Monday(the day I turned 36 weeks) came and I had my c section. JJ was born Monday October 8th, 2007 at 8:11 AM, weighing 5 lbs 4 oz and was 18.5 inches long! This was a whole new experiance for me because before JJ my oldest and smallest son was Isaiah, and he weighed 8 lbs 11.5 oz! Needless to say he was(and still is) our precious little angel. |
